New homes in South Lambeth, London are being built by national developer and housebuilder, Hill. 30 new homes are being developed in one building to replace two existing buildings. Saunders are pleased to have been appointed to develop the working drawings for a combination of flats and maisonettes: all benefiting from being dual aspect and many have private, south facing inset balconies.

The 30 new homes are replacement homes for existing tenants of Broadstone House and Sturminster House, and bring opportunities for shared ownership for leaseholders, and new affordable and intermediate homes. The mix comprises 19 three-bed, 8 two-bed and 3 one-bed homes, including one wheelchair home.

There is a choice of layouts to the maisonettes, some with open plan living arrangements and others with separate dining kitchen areas. Access to the homes is from welcoming entrance cores with seating and lifts to ease access.

The thermal efficiency of the new homes has been paramount. Natural daylight has been maximised, particularly in the lower maisonettes, through the use of higher ceilings, added to the dual aspect layouts which will increase the amount of natural light into these homes.

Phase 1 of the project also includes a landscape parking court providing wheelchair and resident estate parking for existing residents. The project is expected to start on site in May this year.
