The key challenge of building more in Timber is to first improve access to raw materials here in the UK, explained Saunders own Dean Foskett in the recent issue of Structural Timber Magazine.
Dean was featured in the vox pops section, where industry insiders share their opinion about current topics of interest. Dean was responding to a question about why more timber houses were not being built as recommended by the recent APPG report - ‘How the timber industry can help solve the housing crisis’.
Dean went on to share a little bit more about Saunders’ role in pushing the sustainability agenda. Using innovative building materials and a local supply chain is fundamental if we are to meet the government's agenda for net zero carbon Buildings by 2050.
