Saunders have a wide range of experience in the residential sector. We design award winning mixed use and mixed tenure residential schemes of all scales, low-rise suburban housing developments, high density urban apartment schemes, social housing and Build to Rent/PRS.
The scale of our projects varies greatly but the design process always stems from an understanding of the site and the local area. We respond directly to client briefs within the specific context and constraints of the site. We work at both planning and delivery stages, often retained throughout from inception to completion. Our delivery experience and in depth knowledge of our long term clients’ technical requirements allow us to design our planning schemes with the benefit of this technical oversight, ensuring the emerging proposals align with the fundamentals of the client requirements and lessons learnt from delivered schemes. This ensures our emerging planning designs do not propose unworkable or overly complex solutions, minimising risk of design changes required or renegotiations with the LPA whilst the detailed design proposals are being developed.
We have experience of working on projects that require BREEAM targets to be met and designing to Passivhaus standards or to achieve zero carbon. We work as required to meet Secured by Design, London Plan and National Space Standards (NdSS).
We pride ourselves on good long-term relationships with our clients. We have over 20 years’ experience delivering residential planning approvals for national housebuilders, housing associations and developers. This includes projects at all stages, from working with clients on strategic sites in order to gain outline permission or site allocation within a local development plan to reserved matters applications on sites which are purchased with an extant permission in place. Our residential clients include Crest Nicholson, Cala Homes, Barratts, Bellway, Taylor Wimpey, Countryside, Hills, Lovell, Asra and A2 Dominion.
