Saunders are working on a range of projects with Haileybury, including the refurbishment of their lower strings room. Working in collaboration with an acoustician and lighting designer, we developed a scheme which has transformed the original uninspiring room into a grand re-hearsal and performance space.

The false ceiling was demounted to reveal the original ornate lofty form. The proposed interior design scheme included new flooring, re-furbished radiators and a storage wall to house cellos and double bass-es. One storage unit, mounted on castors, can be used as a drinks servery for musical performances. The slatted joinery and velvet blinds provide sound absorption within the space. The skilled in-house team at Haileybury have brought this project to life.
