Saunders have prepared the detailed design for planning submission for a new Library and Learning Centre in Clacton. The key objective of the project is to create a modern centre of learning that will address local economic and social challenges. Located opposite the railway station on a prominent site, the proposal is for a landmark building which will support the regeneration of Clacton town centre. In collaboration with public sector part-ners, the project seeks to enhance the provision of services for the local community, whilst also promoting environmental sustainability, high-quality design and exceptional build standards.

The proposed hub will accommodate a new library, local registration services and an Adult Community Learning Centre. It will also include a space for key partners such as the University of Essex’s new Centre for Coastal Communities and the Clacton Museum.
