There's A New Home Improvement Giant In Our Retail Parks. Saunders Played A Central Role In Launching Their First Stores In St Albans.

Saunders designed the internal and external layouts of two Bunnings stores in St Albans, creating space to showcase its wide range of DIY hardware.

Around 260 former Homebase stores are being reconfigured and rebranded. Saunders planned and developed a standard layout and branding for Bunnings, within the confines of the existing buildings, including highly polished concrete floors, spot lighting and red racking. This design was guided by their Australian model. Bunnings also requested the addition of a cafe and children’s play area in each store and outside space suitable for regular charity barbeques (the “sausage sizzle”), all part of the company’s ethos.

Saunders delivered a full architectural planning and delivery package, on time and to budget. In addition, they have supported the Client with defining effective processes for rolling out these refurbishments to all of their other stores across the UK.
