Walton Court, Walton-on-Thames

Crest Nicholson South

Located on the site of the former Birds Eye headquarters, this development provides 375 apartments of varying size and mix. The original listed building had stood empty for more than a decade, but could not be viably retained as part of the new scheme. However the striking design of the original façade was a key influence in the design of the new development.

The scheme consists of a mix of studio, one, two and three bedroom apartments, with additional space for commercial units and ancillary space. A central block using concrete frame construction with a patterned aluminium façade and an enclosed courtyard sits at the heart of the development. The surrounding smaller blocks use brick as a counterpoint to the central block, but unlike the central block utilise timber frame construction. Surface level and undercroft parking is provided to the perimeter blocks and 180 parking spaces in a basement beneath the central block.

Saunders were appointed to undertake delivery of the scheme post planning. All construction information was drawn and coordinated in Revit.
