Beaulieu, Chelmsford, Zones M, N + Q

Client

Countryside Properties

The Beaulieu development covers approximately 234 hectares to the northeast of Chelmsford wrapping around New Hall School which is located on the site of the original Beaulieu house, originally a hunting lodge for King Henry VIII. Zones M, N & Q provide 272 units through a mix of houses and apartments, across private sale, shared ownership and affordable rent tenures.

Parapeted gables, chimney motifs and bay windows all feature with contrasting brick to bays, soldier courses and stone cills all providing interesting detail. Brickwork detailing is a particular feature of the apartment blocks, highlighted by the contrasting red brick framing on their prominent locations within the site. Maisonette blocks also share many of the details of the apartment buildings although with the brick detailing detail slightly pared back.

Saunders are appointed to undertake delivery of the scheme post planning.
