Planning permission has been received to renovate and extend Lemsford Village Hall, Hertfordshire, providing modern facilities for the local community for activities as varied as Scottish dancing, wedding and birthday parties, and yoga.

Tenders are now in from contractors and work should start on site in the New Year.

Cllr Lenny Brandon, Chair of Hatfield Town Council, commented ”the updated facilities will be welcomed by the local Lemsford community, who use the hall on a regular basis. Local, Welwyn-based architects, Saunders, have been appointed to design and oversee the changes and they will be working closely with the council and residents to ensure the hall is modernised whilst retaining its original charm. As well as updating the main hall and kitchen, the team will also extend the changing facilities used by local sportspeople.”

Residents should be able to enjoy the new space by late summer 2020.
