Grade 2 Listed building Extensively refurbished for use as Doctors Surgery Completed February 2003  
Petersfield
Saunders Partnership were responsible for the detailed design and working drawings for this neighbourhood Health Centre in London Docklands, situated between a church and All Saints station on the Docklands Light Railway. Designed to match the existing rectory on the adjacent site, materials and detailing followed its Georgian architectural style. The project, which had a contract value of £1.6M, started on site in the summer of 1994 and was completed a year later, under a JCT Design and Build form of contract, with Mansell PLC as the main contractor. This substantial health centre comprised doctors’ surgeries, a clinic and administrative facilities and Saunders Partnership were responsible for all aspects of detailed design, including all internal fittings and finishes. The new building had to be carefully constructed around a monument to soldiers lost in the two world wars and essential consolidation of the ground to carry foundations proved fairly challenging, due to the close proximity of a high retaining wall at the boundary with the station.

Commissioned in 2001 Saunders Partnership acted as lead consultant working closely with its clients, Tesco Stores Ltd and the Epping Forest NHS Primary Care Trust, from feasibility, through the planning process, construction and onto final completion of the scheme in 2005. The development is located on a former Industrial and Agricultural Chemical Manufacturing works which presented challenging contamination issues, with a small part of the site frontage being occupied by a health clinic, including Doctors surgery. The project involved the design and construction of a 68,000 sqft food retail store including café, staff accommodation, sales floor, ancillary areas, petrol filling station, pedestrian plaza and a 24,000 sqft purpose built Health clinic for the Primary Care Trust. This building consisting of three Doctors surgeries, dentist, chiropodist, speech therapy, physiotherapy, ancillary areas etc and four key-worker flats on the second floor.
