We have also completed a £15m 'Superhub' distribution centre with offices and vehicle maintenance facilities in Hatfield for Securicor Omega Express.

Healthcare

The Practice has been involved with two major projects for the Health Service. Firstly a new community health centre in Docklands and recently a major refurbishment project, involving the phased construction of a new roof over the whole of Newham General Hospital, whilst it remained fully operational.

Other Projects

Other projects include the recent completion of a doctor's surgery utilising a previously derelict listed building and we are currently developing proposals for two major primary care facilities; a new-build in Essex and a refurbishment of existing listed hospital buildings in the West Midlands.

The Practice has also successfully completed the refurbishment of 80,000 sq ft of offices and facilities for the PSA in Westminster, a sports and social club in North Cheam, a public house in Bristol, extensions for Sherrardswood School in Welwyn and Northumberland Park School in Tottenham, a Vauxhall car dealership refurbishment and new vehicle preparation facilities in Basildon and substantial military training facilities at Sandhurst and Gosport.

Conservation and the Environment

Saunders Partnership are experienced at developments involving the conservation of the natural environment. For example, the Tesco superstore at Warndon involved the relocation of a group of Great Crested Newts to a new habitat, adjacent to the development. This was carried out at a specific time of year in conjunction with the Conservation and Preservation Officer at the Local Authority.

The Practice has undertaken numerous refurbishment projects, including listed buildings, such as Westminster House, York House in central London and The Grange in Petersfield. We have a sensitive approach to the restoration of buildings which form part of our architectural heritage and we understand the importance of finding new uses to enhance and prolong the life of buildings which might otherwise fall into disrepair.

The Practice

Saunders Partnership are currently 60 strong and utilize a full CAD facility (Autocad, 3D Studio Max, Accurender, M-color & Photoshop), allowing meaningful interface with clients and other professionals who are similarly equipped. We have state-of-the-art computer technology which enables us to produce sophisticated 3-D colour presentation material and to communicate directly by modem/e-mail with other parties.

We have recently expanded to offer an in-house multi-disciplinary service to provide structural engineering, highways & traffic engineering, quantity surveying and mechanical and electrical services to our clients utilising our close relationship with companies with these specialisations sharing our bespoke offices.

The Practice has a sound technical basis and a pragmatic approach which produces well designed buildings within budget and on programme.
