We have recently submitted planning applications at Walton Green. The scheme consists of a hybrid outline and detailed planning application for Walton Green Partnership, a partnership of Tesco Stores Ltd and the Trimley Estate, for land within Walton, north-east of the High Street. The detailed application includes the food store (30,000sqft retail area) and 223 parking spaces, 17 no. B1 units, 3 no. Live /work units, Open Use building, allotments and strategic landscaping. The outline application includes the residential proposal for up to 200 dwellings and associated landscaping.

Listed building consent is sought for works affecting the curtilage listed stables. Of paramount importance is the setting of the proposal within the open character and with relation to the heritage assets of the stables, Lodge and Walton Hall. The landscape strategy proposes landscape buffers in the form of bunds between proposed housing and the busy A14 Port of Felixstowe Road and A154 Candlet Road. The proposed open space strategy is for a series of linked green spaces with a significant multi-functional landscape corridor running north/south across the site with a series of swales as part of the sustainable urban drainage strategy.
